1968 Trolleys Parked at the 69th St Terminal - 1
The Media - 69th St "Red Arrow" trolley was like the gateway to Philadelphia, when I was growing up. Sometimes it was to the doctor, on 69th St, and sometimes it was to transfer to the "El" (for Elevated Train) to go to downtown Philadelphia - Wanamakers, Strawbridge & Clothier, Gimbels, Lits. The line still runs as SEPTA 101. In Media, the trolleys still run on a single track, in the middle of State St. It's alleged that Media is the only town in the United States to have a trolley running down the middle of its main street.
